Creating Microscopic, Machine Readable Markers.

Burntside Partners, Inc. has developed and patented a product authentication system based on microscopic product markers, or "taggants", that can carry up to the amount of information in a bar code on an edible wafer smaller than a cross section of a human hair. Some of the codes that can be placed on these markers can be read manually by an observer with no more than a field microscope; others, such as two dimensional bar code patterns, would be better read with pattern recognition software. Our goal is to develop custom turnkey identity preservation systems for our clients, and to sell our services profitably for a very small fraction of the retail price of the marked product.
